If you love folk art, then you’ll surely love Stacey Rozich’s bold folk drawings done in gouache and watercolor. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, she studied Illustration at California College of Arts in San Francisco and is quite the whiz in simple pen and ink line drawings.
Her work evokes memories of when I used to read children’s books (Asian ones), filled with images of carved Chinese lions guarding the palace gate and other mythical beings. I love how Stacey incorporates elements from various folk stories and creates beautiful creatures from them.

Always lookin’ good. Love em.
so beautiful.
True, these fantastic paintings evoke mystery and a strong sense of something long forgotten, yet nearly every character feels hauntingly familiar. One can imagine a wonderful story behind each mask- that’s the simple charm of it. Kudos, Ms. Rozich!

These are wonderful. Dr. Seuss would be very proud of what you have accomplished here. You continually amaze me with your patterns and colors, and also your craftsmanship in keeping it all sharp.
