These handpainted earrings are my favorite — rock chic anyone?

Avert your eyes!

Saturday April 26, 2008

Well, I never thought it would come to this, but I think this image (you need to click on it to see the FULL picture because it’s a little NSFK — Not Safe For Kids) is so hilarious! Inappropriate food containers make a mean pair, according to Salva Lopez! And you can wear them too — it’s printed on a t-shirt available on Shirt City.

P/S — I’m not sure what response I’ll get and I might take it down in the morning (it might not seem so funny to me then), but if you find this offensive, PLEASE let me know!

Liza's Tasty Tee

Friday April 25, 2008

One of Liza Corbett’s beautifully haunting illustrations (you can see my post about her work here) was picked for a Tasty Tee — a t-shirt company that does limited edition tees of artists’ works. The shirt is only available until the 25th of April — holy smokes, that’s today!
{ Sorry I didn’t read about it sooner Liza, and congrats! }

Corduroy + Groundwork

Saturday April 5, 2008

All I need — limited edition print

Let’s Grow Old Together

The Imaginary Photo; Ferns

Danna Ray runs Groundwork, an Etsy shop that sells prints — her work portrays a subtle message that focuses on nature.

Thin Air

The Greatest Day Ever

Toro print; Outlaw organic onesies

Her sister Jen Ray runs Corduroy, a shop that stock her prints and also screenprinted t-shirts and onesies. Her work is more playful and quirky of the two, with a focus on animals, although nature plays a big part in her inspirations as well.

Talent definitely runs in the family, as their mother also runs an Etsy shop that sells snuggly woodland creatures!

She sells her prints, buttons and printed t-shirts in her shop, where my favourite character is her scratching cat (who also greets me on her portfolio site!)

Argyle Academy

Thursday February 21, 2008

Mike Lowery is a DC area artist who teaches art and design. His Argyle Academy comics are quietly hilarious and details the antics of Alexander, Matthew, Stockholm and Lionel the vampire cat; along with a few fruits.

A page from his journal

Places of interest in a small and haunted New England Town

His work is fresh and funny — I love the dialogs between his characters and his expressive linework; and his illustrations documented in his blog.

Oh, and he sells his originals drawings and tees in his shop too!
